Bring on 2010!

I'm beginning the year with a romantic thriller!

Here's a Blurb:

From the killer:

No one knows who I am. I answer to no name. Call me rage. Call me vengeance. I am a punisher, an executioner.

There is no fate I fear. No Heaven or Hell. Existence is my curse and my sentence to serve.

I know who will die next.

I swoop inside, unseen, like an apparition. I will kill you. There’s nothing you can do to stop me.

Death has taken me. I am death. Be prepared for my rage. My curse is coming to you…

There's no hope. The killer is using a marvel in the medical field known as techlepathy, a combination of technology and telepathy to produce a telepathic result. He’s reading their minds.

Chris Chambers is a private investigator with great instincts and a shady past. She’s hardened to life, even more so to people, and as tough as the military trained her to be.

Her team’s newest case is a construction worker by the name of Aidan Wolfe. Someone is trying to kill him, someone with extraordinary gifts.

The killer blames Aidan for the injustices in his life, and he wants revenge. He’s coming for Aidan, Chris and her team. He wants them to all die in a terrifying manner, but first, he’ll make them face their worst fears.

The intensity grows as Chris and Aidan deny a growing attraction for each other while they fight to stay alive. Her life is a constant test of discipline, and he makes her feel totally out of control. There is no middle ground for either of them, but in the end, it may not matter, not if they can’t survive.

Can they win? When faced with the inner demons within, will they want to?

Details of Altered Beginnings

Description
The headline in the small town newspaper read Girl Missing, Presumed Dead or Worse. Leigh Lawson returned to Nags Head, North Carolina after four years with a huge shock. That big and bold headline was about her! Everyone thought she was dead! The truth was that she was doing well. While gone, she had gotten clean from drugs and worked hard to get her bachelor's degree in engineering. With her life back on track, she returns home in hope that she will receive a warm welcome. Instead, she gets the townsfolks' disdain. Leigh's life soon spirals out of control when the police recruit her for an undercover assignment. They want her to go back to the life of her troubled teenage years, back into the drugs, and help them to bring the local drug supplier to conviction. It may be Leigh's only chance to redeem herself with her family and friends. If she can complete this one assignment, the town will forgive her. The only problem is that she needs to figure out how to stay alive in the process... Jason Altarez is her continuous partner through it all, proving his dedication to her as he struggles to keep her safe. Leigh wants to believe he is a man of his word. She wants to believe that her heart isn't completely foolish for falling for him, especially when she discovers evidence that Jason may be working for the very drug dealer that Leigh is trying to have arrested. Will he betray her in the end or will he demonstrate the most romantic notion of all that love at first sight truly exists?

Memorable Quotes

*

“'We're not really dating per se,' Leigh said. Nate grinned. 'I wouldn't be so sure about that, pretty lady. I know my brother's tastes and you definitely have the main ingredients. His eyes ate more than his mouth at dinner.'”

*

“'I didn't say I was done with you. You think you want to sleep with me? Let me show you what happens to girls who wake up in my room,' Freddie said. He saw the fear in her face, but she obeyed. They always did.”

Manic Readers Review - 4 Stars for Predetermined Endings

MR Review

Angelica Chappell is brilliant, rich, and beautiful so her life must be charmed, right? Unfortunately, although Angelica is famous for developing a new cancer drug that may actually cure cancer, she has attracted the attention of serial killer who not only wants her dead but wants her reputation ruined and her drug pulled from usage. Angelica is certain that the drug, Krytonix, works and that it has been sabotaged but she can’t imagine why someone would do that and it is up to her to prove her drug works; if she lives long enough. William Pierce is a burned out undercover FBI agent gone rogue and when his path crosses Angelica’s there is plenty of sparks and the danger escalates. Can Angelica make William care enough about anything to help her? If William decides to help, can he play by the rules or will he make up his own?

This is a very intriguing plot. A researcher has possibly found the cure for cancer and instead of that making the world a better place, greed and pure evil come out of the woodwork and actually work to make the drug fail. Angelica is worshiped one moment and then hated the next. I loved Angelica’s character, although for being such a brilliant person; I found it difficult to believe she could really be so naïve. Yes, she has been really sheltered but with today’s technology and the rapid availability of information, plus she was an avid reader; I found it difficult to believe she wouldn’t put things together a little faster and have some survival skills. William is a disaster and he knows it. He knows he has gone too far the wrong direction and sees no way to redeem himself. Well good for him but I sure wanted him to get over his pity party a little sooner and get back in the game. Protecting and helping Angelica escape from the evil targeting her seems like a valid for redemption to me! Unfortunately, the bad guy has no intention of waiting while Angelica and William get their act together so from the first page this story is full of repeated attempts to get to and harm Angelica and anyone around her. So despite my skepticism or maybe because of it, I found myself deeply involved in this story, unwilling to put it down for any length of time until I found out what was going to happen! If you love danger, intrigue, and rapidly developing plots that rush the characters toward a dramatic ending, you will love Predetermined Endings!

Hello 2010!

My blog The Smiling Pains of Novelist Destiny Booze is changing. I'm adding a new themed day into the blog schedule.

Every Friday (let's make it a Fun Friday), I will be posting emails from readers. Please help me get this off to a great start by sending me some fun stuff in, okay? The emails can be a question to me (almost anything goes), a comment, a review, a personal embarrassing moment would make my day (lol), your personal story of success, an experience worth sharing, or it can be anything you have to say. It's all about you. What do you want to say every Friday?

Submit emails to destinybooze@gmail.com. Also, please keep sending me submissions for my creative corner. I'm truly loving everyone's work!

I'm also considering one more themed day and I want to put it up to a vote. The choices are: (1) Amazing Stories, (2) Picture of the Week, (3) The world through the eyes of _______ (fill in the blank with a different person each week, like a child, a senior, a brother, a mother), or... (4) (this will probably surprise you) a Destiny's venting day. Does Desitny vent? Yes, she does!

So, what do you think?

While you're voting, let me know if you want to keep my two current themed days: A Smile Every Sunday and Motivational Monday.

Send your votes to destinybooze@gmail.com. I can't wait to hear what you think!

It's going to be a great year! I can feel it!
